I've been meaning to switch away from gitlab hosting my personal repos, this feels like the push I needed
If would be an illusion if you think github is better. And maybe Forgejo but most likely they will follow suite.
I strongly doubt Forgejo is going to follow suite after they very literally hard forked from Gitea for following suite. Whether Codeberg, the most popular public Forgejo instance does or not is definitely more unclear.
