Indeed. Nice to see people escaping that hell, and as an added bonus it adds to the exchange account.
He has also chosen to do morally right thing, and to not contribute to criminal activity Russia is doing. It is preferable than going to Russian jail or just be killed for refusing to serve.
I cannot fathom the relief this person must have once he was in custody. One trigger happy soldier and you are over. Good on those follow sensible rules of engagement here.
