What are the drawbacks to using patreon and ko-fi at the same time?
Not a comparision, but to use both as donation platforms at the same time.
Are there any rules or terms of service that prevent this?
Is the only drawback another account to keep track of and another tax form?
I don't think there would be any issue.
Seems very anticompetitive to say if you support someone on one platform you are forbidden from using another platform.
I don't think cake is saying that at all. They're asking if using both has issues besides more tax paperwork.

I can't recall specific examples but I've definitely heard of folks that use patreon as a subscription thing and have the kofi for one-time donations. I don't know their financials, obviously, but it seems to me that it works.
