Does the digestive tract count as a pneumatic propulsion system?
It just occurred to me (on the can, i might add) that with the various states of matter all being driven by pressure, it might have necessary characteristics to be classified as one.
On a side note, I wonder what pressure the intestinal tract is rated for. I have a certain potato-based experiment I'd be interested to know the outcome of.

Peristaltic, in fact that's where the term comes from. You can type "peristaltic pump" into a search engine to see lots of descriptions and diagrams.
Well, I kinda had the impression peristalsis loads the cannon, so to speak, while pneumatics fire it.

No, your farts are not what propel your poop. Squeezing and relaxing of the tube propels the poop, which is not a pneumatic process.
