That's just a statement of incontrovertible fact. These universities are doing despicable things in trying to silence their own students and hide from the truth.
I can't wait until "not supporting the forced deportation of all Jewish individuals" will be counted as "antisemitism".
It's almost like all of these elite universities are beholden to their wealthy alumni.
major donors are jewish, and with ties to Israel or other rich celebreties, hint seindfeld and his wife.
Wasn’t Seinfeld a Queens College CUNY alumnus? I guess there’s no reason they wouldn’t donate to NYU as well, just didn’t know there was a connection there.

Agree but didn’t realize NYU was considered “elite” as a state school. In fact was a bit surprised seeing this headline in the first place, as SUNY and CUNY tend to fly below the radar (i.e., wouldn’t usually need to take a stance on a divisive issue) but you’re right that it’s likely pressure from wealthy alumni.(apparently not a suny school at all! I’ve been giving it too much credit all this time. Just another private school.)It's considered like tier 2 elite. It's not an ivy league, but it's up there.

Yeah... that's not what's going on here. The anti-Zionist movement in the West calls for Western countries to take diplomatic and economic action against Israel. That includes cutting ties, not selling weapons, sanctions, embargoes, etc. This is a lot more than "group X should stop killing group Y;" it's "we should stop group X from killing group Y, at least not with our weapons". This ruffles a lot of feathers in the political and corporate establishment for a few reasons, some rational (in a psychopathically self-interested sort of way) and some not.

They're the same picture. The Gaza genocide is simply the ugly manifestation of the essence and inevitable conclusion of Zionism. What we're looking at today is nothing more than how the Nakba would've looked like if Palestinians had nowhere to escape.

A lot of the left always knew that academia and university were inherently political and not “pure truth” or “pure science” as people idealise them to be.
I hope those who would always argue that academia is pretty much perfect are now taking note.

This person earned that diploma, and it seems absurd that they'd be able to withhold it for something like this.
A university with some fucking integrity should give him an honorary degree. Hell, transfer all his credits over and give him an actual degree.
