Warning from Malwarebytes about a compromised instance?

I really wish I knew more about this stuff, but every time I switch from Local to Subscribed Malwarebytes gives me a popup warning me that lemmy.world is compromised and blocked (even though I'm still seeing posts from communities there) but that's all it's telling me. Should I be avoiding that instance?

It's probably out of date.

Lemmy.world had an administrator account compromised. It was traced to a security issue in the Lemmy software and was fixed pretty quickly.

This all happened maybe a week or two ago (edit: it was a month ago. There's a post here)? Reasonably recent, so they probably haven't removed the warning yet.

Thanks, I wasn't sure where to look for more info, since MWB wasn't very forthcoming. I was sure that if there was something dodgy happening there'd be outrage somewhere about it but everyone seems pretty normal.

Yep, it was big news at the time. There was at least one other instance compromised, but lemmy.world was the biggest.

We even had a lemmy.nz post about it here: https://lemmy.nz/post/325329
