Launch Switch Battery Replacement?

Anyone have any experience with this? I recently undocked my Switch for the first time in a while and found the battery was significantly swollen. I've powered it down but I want to replace it.

iFixit has a kit that seems good but there's others online for half the price. How risky would buying the cheaper one be?

Thanks

Edit: went with iFixit and it was a success!

iFixit stuff has never let me down for all kids of devices. I’d say they’re worth the cost.

Not risky at all. I've bought a replacement on AliExpress a few years ago and it's fine

It was a few years ago and even if the seller still exists on the platform (which is not given), I couldn't find it.

Thank you for getting anyway. I opted to just go with iFixit.

Sure, that's definitively safer. With AliExpress even when I had issues they were dealt with properly, but it's probably better with ifixit

That's good to know. I also assume iFixit's will arrive sooner.

That's not something I'd assume. Aliexpress sometimes delivers packages within one week for me (I live in Poland).

Interesting, I guess it's been some time since I ordered form there. I am also across the ocean however. I will keep that in mind.

It's a trusted brand vs a roll of the dice. iFixit has to stand behind their product. A random Chinese vendor you and nobody else has heard of could sell you the same battery, they could sell you a factory second, they could sell you a smaller cell with a fake label. It's about whether you are willing to risk having to do it twice and pay both the cost of the random vendor and a more reputable kit if the first doesn't work out.

Maybe find out who exactly the other poster who bought one got theirs from.

That's a very good point. I think I'll just suck it up and pay more rather than risk anything. The cheaper ones offer extra capacity which always sketches me out a bit.
