Remembering my chemistry professor telling us about how he went half deaf. As a young TA he had access to a brick of sodium and thought it would be a good idea to throw it into his parents pool

Back in the 80s my roommate and I tried to invent a new swear word. We settled on "cuck!" Definitely sounded dirty but meant nothing, at least to us. And I really don't think it was slang yet back then.

I'd guess that it originates from Hekkenfeldt, an old Nothern European name for Hekla (Heklufjall), an Icelandic volcano believed to be the entrance to Hell and a meeting place for witches.
