Lemmyvision 2025: Voting is open to select Canada's submissions to the contest

For those unfamiliar, please see this post: https://lemmy.ca/post/40262691

In total we received 20 nominations for the English category, 5 for the French category, and 1 for the Inuk category. We will be submitting 3 songs, one from each category.

Voting will be open from now until March 30th, 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

You can rank up to 5 songs in each category:

  • The top song you select will receive 5 points
  • The second song will receive 4 points
  • The third song will receive 3 points
  • The fourth song will receive 2 points
  • The fifth song will receive 1 point

It is possible to select less than 5 songs, but the remaining points will not be applied to anything.

If someone wants to put together some playlists, I didn't have a chance to do that yet. All but one of the songs are on YouTube, so that might be a good place to start.

This is also our first time using LimeSurvey. Hopefully it goes well, and if not then we can learn from it before using it for our Census later

I'm not sure if it was intended, but going to the form for English lets me vote my English favorites then flips to French. Trying to submit nothing it says click again to confirm then changes it's mind and requires a vote. I'm thankful there were only 5 songs and one I liked. 😅

Yes that was intentional, but I should have been more clear about what each link was. I added this blurb now:

We can also update the confirmation screen for future surveys. Right now it's set to 'soft mandatory', so it will stop you the first time but you can forcibly skip past it at that point. Surveys don't usually do that, so it might be unnecessarily confusing to use that feature.

Ok. What I mean though is that the "soft mandatory" isn't. The first attempt to submit produced an "are you sure?" type of error indicating I could still submit, but trying again produced a different error. (And I did try to submit a couple more times just to be sure, before listening through the French songs.)

Palaye Royale seems to be an American band. According to their Wikipedia, they're from Las Vegas, NV. I think they should be removed :/
