I disagree with the author. There are tons of people that play 100% vanilla Minecraft. Not everyone takes the time to get shaders. I play modded a lot but my brother doesn't have the time or patience to learn any of it even though he's interested in playing modded.
Exactly this.
Shaders make it feel like a brand new game, it could bring in new players or bring back quite a few players.
My little nephews' minds will be blown.
Just hope it's optimized like the mods and ends up running even better than before as well. If performance takes a hit, it'd be better left alone or as a settiing to be toggled.
