There’s also write.ellipsus.com as a free google docs alternative (from Germany) and it’s currently in beta but open to the public :)
I use it already and I like it a lot. They are also against generative AI which is very important to protect creative writing.

France and Germany, in joint collaboration, have developed a Google Docs alternative - and its awesome! (Netherlands are currently onboarded) | Spyke

Cool! It doesn't seem to be opened to anyone for now?
Here's the repo: https://github.com/suitenumerique/docs
open to state workers only it seems.
Seems like you need some kind of French business ID to sign up at the moment.
I'll be following this. Once the public can use it, I'll definitely replace google docs with it.
I hope that really takes off.
it’s alternative to notion not google docs
Notion is muuuuuch more than just a bunch of notes looking like a wiki
Fantastic. Does anyone know a collaborative Calc/Excel alternative?

Anything docker-free?

This suite uses Grist, which you can selfhost:
https://www.getgrist.com/
(it also is quite good and comes with some great features that excel is missing)
