While we're in a returning things mood, France needs to pay back the "reparations" it made Haiti pay to France for no longer being French slaves. Several trillion in today's currency.
There's (for now) a plaque at the base with a poem stating "give us your tired, give us your poor". Clearly not the attitude our government and a large portion of our population has, right now.
I can only hope we'll remember how immigration built this country before they simply remove the plaque.

Truthfully? They're not wrong to want it back.
