NATO chief smacks down Trump on Greenland grab

"I don't want to drag NATO into that" is not exactly a smackdown. It's a polite refusal to support the idea.
He did even agree that the region is changing and sensitive - the title is closer to the reverse of what was said.

This is the type of reporting that feeds into Trumps hierarchical world view. Anything short of blindly agreeing with what he says is an affront, a 'smackdown' even.
Dude politely declined to address it. Which he shouldn't given his position. Not news worthy.
