biennial DST complaint

these are $50k cars but for some reason Hyundai can't put in a copy of the Olson database and instead makes us check/uncheck a "Daylight Savings" checkbox every six month. ARGH!

I guess South Korea doesn't have DST, but a whole lot of their customers do...

Does anyone have a 2025 model and know if they finally fixed this and enabled the car to auto-adjust for daylight savings time?

Maybe sometime cars will be equipped with some sort of satellite based navigation system. I imagine such a thing could provide time - might even rely on it, in fact. Combine that with a database and the user might never have to change the time in the car!

So frustrating.

hey now just because the car is automatically a stratum 1 NTP server doesn't mean it should know what time it is...

oh wait
