This shouldn't be a surprise, but it's still outrageous and probably a lot more damaging than simply stopping future aid. Russia's economy is crippled and they are struggling to supply their military to keep up the war effort. Dropping the sanctions would not only give them a huge economic boost, it would also potentially allow them to buy things they can't manufacture on their own.
A plurality of voters chose to elect a puppet who has effectively turned the US into a Russian vassal state. But at least eggs are cheap and plentiful and we have peace in the middle east, right?
Namely, weapons with advanced computer chips in them.
So when do we start placing bets on when Trump starts sending weapons to Russia?
I bet he has already sold the blueprints to our best weapons tech.

I don't understand why Trump would give Putin free access to US shit when he could have sold it instead. Unless he did sell it wholesale this time.

tbh a massive influx of foodstuffs we're short on and ultimately lower consumer prices is probably better than what we're actually going to get, which is probably a future Trump tower in Moscow or some stupid BS.

He probably did sell it and the payment went to him personally. Trump is a loser who didn't have enough money to pay his civil judgements just a few years ago. The money, if it does indeed exist, was never going to the US treasury.

I thought russians say sanctions make them stronger. They should be asking for more sanctions.
I think most people expected those sanctions to end eventually.
But they also expected that to happen after Russia withdrew from occupied territory in Ukraine and ceased hostilities at any of their borders.
