When I was young I was also often told the "old soul" thing ... But I went to college early, meaning that most of my friends at the time were years older than I and thought of me as almost a little kid (though I didn't go that early). It was an interesting dichotomy.

When I was a kid they said I had an "Old Soul". And by the time I was 16 I was an old man.
Oh yeah well when I was 5 I had arthritis and died
I was born at age six without a face...
I was born flat footed.
Seriously. I was. I've been jealous of people who don't walk like a duck for my entire life. Dancers. Athletes. Etc.
