Trump says Putin would keep his word on a Ukraine peace deal
Donald Trump has insisted that Vladimir Putin would “keep his word” on a peace deal for Ukraine, arguing that US workers extracting critical minerals in the country would act as a security backstop to deter Russia from invading again.
During highly anticipated talks at the White House with the prime minister, Keir Starmer, the US president said that Putin could be trusted not to breach any agreement, which could aim to return as much of the land as possible to Ukraine that was seized by Russia during the brutal three-year conflict.
But, sitting alongside Starmer in the Oval Office taking questions from journalists, Trump refused to commit to deploying US forces to support a European-led peacekeeping force, although he said the US would “always” help the British military in the unlikely event it needed it.

bull.
fucking.
shit.
Lol, Lmao even. Budapest Memorandum.
Mad Ukraine never leveraged it
My understanding is there is not much to be leveraged. There were no guarantees, just "pinky promise we will respect your borders"
Two of the most honest people in the world with an agreement. Things will go as expected.
Like when Russia told Ukraine they would never invade them if Ukraine gave up their nukes?
If you trust Russia, you're a dumbfuck.
Oh look, Trump trusts Russia.
Hey now, let's not jump to conclusions!
They might be blackmailing him.
He's still a dumbfuck, just a different type.
"One of us never tells the truth, and one of us always lies."
Who cares what Trump “says”. He doesn’t remember and changes tack day to day. Zero credibility.
Trump: Zelensky is a Dictator
Trump next day: Did I say that?
Liar says other liar will keep his word.
Surely you don't mean fucking asshole liar is a liar right?
Remember when Putin swore, in front of Macron and other EU politicians, that he was not about to invade Ukraine? “It’s just military training”…
That means there's exactly a zero percent chance of that happening. Hell it might even be a negative percent just because it's through Trump.
Yeah just like he did in 2014
Like he kept his word after 2014? Or 1991(OK, technically not him back then, but the state he leads)?
Just the fact that the US is basically stealing Ukraines lunch money to make a bully stop attacking them makes the US a bully.
But what is the other bully Russia getting out of this deal?
Are they even proposing a withdrawal? One bully steals Ukraines lunch money while the other steals Ukraines land and millions of people
Time to fix their economy and rebuild their military
Man who can't keep his word, said that other man who won't keep his word, will
Asset Krasnov says his boss is trustworthy…
I wonder which word Trump will hold.
I would not put it past him to arrest Zelenskyy the moment he lands, announce an immediate state visit to Moskow, and hand over Zelenskyy to Putin as a present.
Lmao how can so many people continue to defend how Russophilic he is?
"Putin" two weeks ago: No I wouldn't.
Our president is so truthful and full of smartness that I tend to agree. Putin is very trustworthy as well. Two of the best truth-tellers in the world today. Two regular people worthy of all the respect that exists in the world. Not just respect. TRUST!
EDIT: Sorry, I'm so fucked up I didn't realize I posted to the same thing twice(until now). I didn't say exactly the same thing twice but it's pretty close
Guy notorious for lying consistently is sure to keep his word this time!
Fucking idiots.
If Trump puts his signature on it that USA will pay Ukraine 500 billion in case of Russia breaking their word, sure.
Lol, even assuming that things work as planned and we do end up stealing the wealth of another nation......does anyone really think it's going to be Americans physically extracting the resources?
How much is it going to cost to send skilled workers to a war zone that's been shelled and mined to all hell for the last 3 years? And if we do end up spending out the nose to pay Americans, how the hell is that going to be profitable? Corporations will barely pay a livable wage to Americans working in America.
I always assumed American corpos would swoop in and rebuild, subsidized by the US govt and compensated by prime real estate ownership or something like that. Of course the natural resources would have come into play as some sort of repayment plan for rebuilding or military aid, but that was the long con and donny is spoiling it by demanding it up front. 5 bucks says he sell the rights to putin or some shit.
Yeah, but that doesn't really require Americans on the ground doing work. They would just hire cheaper Ukrainian labour to extract the wealth.
They wanted the rights without guarantees so they could let Russia win (not necessarily whole Ukraine) and sign a "peace" deal where they would respect US ownership part.
