There is an "actually infuriating" community. Go use that for political and other terrible things happening in the world. That is not the purpose of the community. All of that is important but not the point of this community. Go post where it belongs and let me have a break from it here.
I think I'm up for actually being a mod here if help is desired. I've not done it before but am willing to help if needed.

How not? Is it mildly infuriating that people keep posting actually infuriating stuff to the community. It's not a huge problem, but it's definitely mildly infuriating.

But for real, I agree. Forcing US politics down the throat of everyone just builds resentment and makes people completely check out from it. I have content filters set to hide all of it. I'd like an option to show me the most important ones but that is not an option. It's to either be firehosed by Trump and Musk articles or blocking it all. I choose the latter.

Many of them. Personally I'm just using my adblocker for that since I'm only using Lemmy on Firefox.

Well, sometimes you gotta post into mild stuff to see if your case is just mild or actually infuriating as some people might just not know how much to react to something
