Looks pretty nice. I'm in the process of doing the same. One bit of annoyance is that I have a half length cabinet but one of my servers is full length.

There might be a rail kit that can extend out the back. It'd be a little labgore but it would work

So here's another homelab sin I committed... I dont use rails. I stead I buy these adjustable universal shelves that get installed like rails. Why? Because all my servers are second hand and require proprietary mounting rails. The dell server rails are way more expensive than they need to be haha

That is a decent idea, except that pulling the servers out is a pain because you can't pull them out too much (up until their centre of gravity permits), and they aren't as secure as using rails that bolt them in, and that you would lose about 1U of space every pair of rails you use. The last point might not be a problem if you have a larger rack

That's what I do too. The 4u is on a set like that. I didn't know it was a sin!

I just have a little shelf right now in our apartment. Once we get a house, I get a rack!

Looks great! about the gaming rig... are you doing GPU passthrough or baremetal install? are you using something to play remotely?
