It's very helpful for 3d modeling. The more short cut keys the better.

I‘d say it’s personal preference. I know a lot of people in accounting that would murder you if you took away their numpad. I personally prefer a 75% keyboard as a SFE

I sort of agree, the numpad should be a standalone device to the left of the keyboard. However, a numpad is essential for rapid data entry.

It depends on what job you have.

Cashier's need to use numpad more than other keys.

Also people who work with numbers use numpad more than any other keys.

I do a lot of data entry for work, 90% of it is just numbers. When I work from home on my TKL keyboard, it takes me twice as long to get the work done.
