Lawns are a passion hate of mine. I bought a house and land package that has lawn front and back and it's the most useless waste of land. I'd rather the house be further forward with a bigger shed in the back yard but instead there a plant that require constant cutting/watering. My ex was the one who wanted to keep it and now that she's gone I'll look at landscaping the yard to rocks and native flora.

What's the status of that project? That's a lot of work but way nicer than lawns once finished

As a space behind your house where kids can run about and play, that is safer and nicer to look at than a concrete or bare-earth yard, then I totally support it, particularly if you're in a climate where they don't need much help. As a big pointless expanse to look at and not use for anything, or in parts of the world where keeping the lawn requires massive effort and expense and continual watering, it's a huge waste. And if you're going to have a lawn, at least put some flowerbeds around with pollinator-friendly plants.

My garden has a lawn, because I have a toddler. It also has deep borders stuffed with plants, and at this time of year you can't go half a minute without seeing a bee or a butterfly or something. Also, in this part of the world I don't have to do much to keep it looking good, besides mowing it and chucking a bit of seed on the occasional worn spot.

Agreed. Maybe if you tell the grass a joke you might be able to cheer it up.

Spez needed to touch gras so he stole some.

The grass would probably spontaneously combust from his body odor before he has the chance to touch it

They're just taking it inside so they can touch grass from home.

Mildly infuriating probably because it's not their own grass

Perhaps an equine-deficient, bean-abstainer was in need of a lift, and well you know how that old saying goes...

I think I remember it being Brazil based on this post on another site

I expected as much, Minecraft cows did it.

Really weird. I can't imagine there's a practical reason for this. Or maybe people are trying to steal pieces of lawn to grow their own?

Sod is expensive right now. These are clearly fresh patches of sod laid down which is why you can see they're in a pre-cut grid. Someone who needed some sod stole their sod.

Probably a couple local gangs having a turf war. I’ll see myself out….. :)
