Got 6 months of Zepbound approved by insurance, but I'm on a compounding Rx of semaglutide.

My doctor moved, so I went to the same office, but talked to a new doctor. This new doctor asked me about the unfilled Wegovy Rx that I received in the past. I told her I had some issues after switching insurance companies, but forgot to mention that I had compounding pharmacy semaglutide. New doctor got me Zepbound, and the insurance said it is covered currently for 6 months. I'm guessing that means I will need my doctor to follow up with insurance after 6 months.

I have an Rx of Zepbound that's actually covered by insurance! but I still have compounded semaglutide!

The internet tells me not to take both at the same time but... What happens if I do?

Just call your doctors office, don't listen to anyone here.

I like my new doctor. Also, this doctors office lets me do so much over the phone and through their online portal. I love when I don't have to go in for every little thing.
