we have none of the cool aspects of cyberpunk but all of the bad ones.

well, we have pills to change gender, pills to talk to God, we can immediately reach out to most humans in the world without moving, and we have a lot of fascists to kill

That window has been closing since 2008. We interact with who we're supposed to interact with. The chances of me hearing the plight of a third world farmer directly from his mouth is slim to none.

Oh the proper channels are closing.

But the improper ones are opening more.

Heck, were seeing analysis of how US liberal media suppresses violence against Palestinians less than a year after in happened. During the cold war that would be ten years.

I'd say that's mostly Tiktok/China holding up a mirror to the west. As soon as some deal is struck between them and China, that too, will stop

Periscope solved that quite well by showing a world map with everybody currently livestreaming. So you could just hop between countries and continents and see what others were doing. Wasn't profitable enough or something, so Twitter killed it.

I said we can, I never said we do. More possibilities doesn't mean better possibilities.

1

Acsshually it's more likely that you're talking to a bot trying to pass as a human than a human. That's as punk as it gets.

Cigarettes that need batteries, cheap led blue lights to stop the homeless from shooting up, electric cars and robot dogs for the elites, giant corporations infecting politics

We're in it bub for a very long time.

Air fryers are not the first thing that come to my mind when I think cool cyberpunk, probably is not even the 100th thing.

what, you don't remember the air fryier scene from Johnny Mnemonic?

Melobolreply

He doesn't use the drug he sells. LoL Stardew Valley is on all Teslas, playable with controllers.
Tho I do wish...

I mean, it's close.

But this is like if neuromancer was written by Tom Sharpe instead of William Gibson.

8

The Cyberocalypse will not be streamed.

Watching a documentary on NEOM and all the other Neo-EPCOT plans of the Saudis, and I'm starting to wonder if we're heading into a Cyberpunk & Digital Dystopia OR if that is just the facade of a future that all these billionaires and financial firms are using to scam us into a much more analog and material dystopia as they monopolize all the real resources and real estate in some post-modern form of feudalism.

6

Yeah should a known we'd be getting shitty side of a tech society

5

Still have cp77 in my backlog... maybe this is a good time to give it a whirl.
