A couple of recommendations: There may be life drawing classes in your area, and that is without a doubt the best way to learn to draw figures, simply lots and lots of practice. I'd also recommend picking up a used copy of Barcsay's Anatomy for the Artist. It's exceedingly useful.

You got the basic ideas there, now just continue doing it!
That's the hard part, but 5 minutes a day for 70-80 days and you'll crave drawings.
