Excuse me, that's President Musk and First Lady Trump.

Well, usually the first lady wears heels, sometimes a girdle and makeup.

The racists have installed a South African president. 😂

In fairness it's an Afrikaans POS that probably has a home in Orania. It's the kind of South African MAGA would love.

That's a whole lot of fascists, I would say. Or a whole lot of complete idiots.

1

Combination of the fascists who voted for Bonespurs and the idiots who think they were too pure to vote for Harris.

6
lemmy.world

I voted for Harris. Talk to the people who refused because Harris fell short of their line that said "To ride you must be THIS PURE."

Lmao. Kamala Harris?!?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

No obviously meant Calvin Harris. His music is what this nation needs now more than ever.

They’re around each other often. One shouldn’t have to resort to AI to manifest an image of them beside each other. IMO, using AI in propaganda (even if factually accurate propaganda) makes the message come across as phony and those in agreement look disingenuous or dumb since the propagator couldn’t even bother to use reality in their imagery.

That's assuming people can even tell. It's at the point now where a lot of people are starting to struggle.

Even if people couldn't tell, when it comes out that a purportedly real photo is AI, it still can greatly undermine a point.

Fine if the photo is obviously AI as an obviously fake over the top satire, but other than that, particularly when there's just a huge library of real photos, don't resort to AI fakes.

10

when it comes out that a purportedly real photo is AI, it still can greatly undermine a point.

You're stuck in the old way of thinking, when facts and reality mattered. The only thing that matters now are feelings, specifically outrage, or smug superiority.

4

Does it really matter?

Musk just killed the US budget bill with a bunch of tweets that were explicit lies, and people lapped them up. Bizarre, obvious AI slop gets tons of engagement on Facebook.

And there are zero consequences.

Trump and Musk embraced a post truth world, so maybe it’s time for their opposition to stop pretending like America can (as a whole) think critically and fight fire with fire. Maybe it will accelerate the fall of the platforms that enable them.

3

Look at A.I. Trump’s face — he almost looks like a human.

The lens sharpness and focal length seem a bit off between the foreground and the background but I don’t know enough about photography to say with authority if this is particularly telling. The poses and the gloss just seem too perfect and there is no apparent motion transpiring. Musk’s face also seems to lack depth as his left cheek looks like it’s just painted onto the same plane as his face.

After feeling like the image was off, I reverse image searched it with the text cropped out and found no results that did not have the text superimposed. Out of curiosity and without any idea of how reliable they are, I tried a site that claims to be able to detect if images are AI and it said it was ~98% sure it was generated through Stable Diffusion.

i dont think “president” is a good descriptor of musks position. i think if anything he’s more like the CEO of the united states. he gets to complain about stuff and give orders that other people follow. the president does this to some degree as well, but i think the president has way more responsibilities and paper work than the average CEO. the president also has to make more public appearances and answer questions from various government organizations/committees. musk doesn’t have to do any of that. he can just show up whenever he wants and make demands

37
lemmy.world

I agree in general but I think it's funny to imagine Teflon Don doing paperwork. The only thing he's read in years is a teleprompter.

Seriously he didn't do shit but rallies and sign whatever he was handed last time. Trump played golf, which takes a long fucking time, on average more than once a week during his presidency. Once every 5.6 days is the estimate.

10

yeah thats a good point. trump was certainly not responsible last time around (and i highly doubt he will be responsible this time). although in the case of trump, it’s him not doing the things he’s supposed to. whereas in elons case, nobody is asking him to sign stuff or do anything. and i think that’s an important distinction. he gets all the power with none of the responsibility.

I agree with the sentiment I've seen posted here several times that two egos that big, in close proximity, for a long time, will eventually explode. I hope so anyway. Unless you're down to do a green Mario or start working on mutual aid, there's not much to do but grab the popcorn and wait for that very public breakup.

Oh and if you have the means, and are not suicidal, arm yourself before January 20th. Take a safety class and practice. Secure your weapons if there's any chance of a child getting to them. We don't know what's coming.

3

i also agree with that sentiment. and i think that people are starting to talk a lot more about how much power and influence musk has. it’s only a matter of time until trump sees it (if he hasn’t already), and from that point it’s only a matter of time until it gets under his skin and he lashes out. (at least that’s what i think will happen.)

i sometimes forget that trump isn’t the president yet, given how it seems like the media has entirely neglected biden for the past month and a half, and how there have been constant stories about trump every day since the election. i am not looking forward for what’s to come.

i appreciate the advice (genuinely), but i don’t think that owning a gun would be the best choice for me due to mental health stuff. although it is a good reminder to start preparing for what’s to come after january 20th. i am not looking forward to it.

2

That's why they call this the lame duck period of a presidency. Biden still technically has the power but nobody cares.

1

Is he going to buy a "founder of the USA" label and have it put in the Constitution like he made himself a Tesla founder?

32

"They come to me, tears in their eyes, and say Sir, you are the only one of Musk's assistants that wears makeup. It's the best makeup, everyone is saying it."

keep circulating this and the first lady Elon version, their egos the size of a hot air balloon will clash at some point

Nah, circulate AI photos of them kissing, and make sure trump has tiny little hands.

2

I do support this, everywhere all the time. My point was if you're trying to make a serious point use real images.

2

I think they’ll go to battle and it will be glorious 🍿

But trump is only the concept of a billionaire

6
lemmy.world

You already know Musk is going to try and do it for real at one point...

16

Once Trump tries to break the rules by getting a third term, or pulls a Medvedev and becomes vice president to a stooge while still running things (which is also unconstitutional), the barn door is broken wide open. It won't be a problem for Musk to run even though he's foreign-born.

4

Is the film Don't Look Up a social commentary on real life? Or did Elon and Donald saw the movie and decided to cosplay?

Idiocracy had a president who actually cared about the environment, who hired the smartest man in the world to help them solve the crisis. Trump refuses to acknowledge there's even an environmental crisis and he won't listen to experts. Idiocracy is already a better future than the one we're living in.

Macho Mountain Dew Camacho. Put some respect in the name! LOL

I saw an episode of King of the Hill a couple months ago. Hank and Bobby were watching wrestling on TV. I hadn't seen this one, and I think I've seen just about all of them, so it put a smile on my face when the wrestling announcer said something like "..and in this corner, Macho Camacho!"

3

It's like the book 1984, which was supposed to be a warning tale but many govts the world over use it as a how to guide.

6

No but he'll totally throw a tantrum about it soon. Orange baby can't have anyone else getting wuv other than him. It's gonna be some beautiful fireworks when the richest manchild clashes with the weakest ego president.

6

Why would someone generate an image like this when there's surely tons of photos of them together? Weird choice.

7

Peter Thiel has that guys nuts gripped so hard that he's begging to be allowed to cum. Probably has JD in a chastity cage so he doesn't fuck up the oval office furniture.

4

Musk wasn't born in America, so he's ineligible to run for president.

-2

The point is highlighting the practical result, which in some ways seems that musk is calling the shots rather than Trump. Definitely has more power in effect than Vance. Yes he's not technically going to be the president. But that technically seems to be doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

11

According to the rules, yes. Guess who doesn't give a fuck about the rules though
