I use tineye. Much better than google's IME. It's supposed to be privacy respecting, but I haven't looked into it too hard.

Tineye is way better for exact matches but worse for similar matches. If I have a cropped image, Google is better at finding the uncropped version

Avoid installing extensions as they break browser site isolation (bad for security). Extensions have a lot more access than a website does in the browser.

But you still can use different browser's profile to use them isolating from main one, no?
