Those that cycle on those routes should just cycle down the middle of lanes. One bicycle per lane all the way across. Don't let a single car pass.

If drivers don't want bicycles to have their own space then they have to accept that it's perfectly legal for bicycles to use the road.

But cyclists don't pay for the road through gas taxes, filthy freeloaders! /s
