Why does that snail look like its jumping on them in a platforming game?
Who's to say its not a platforming game for them...

Wow those looks so cool! Almost like a distant relative of white roses.
They are not photosynthesizing plants, they are parasites of fungi! Pretty cool looking in person, almost translucent. One of my hikes this year had a bunch of clumps of these on the trail.
Of course. I was just commenting on its similar appearance :)
They are still flowers though. It's probably not entirely wrong to think of them as related to other flowers, I didn't know anything about them until I took the picture.

Looks like they might be coprinellus disseminatus or "fairy ink caps" but I'm not an expert and it's hard to be sure without knowing more information like where you found them (region/what they were growing on) and what the gills look like.
Inky caps are generally considered "conditionally edible" because they contain a chemical which reacts with alcohol and becomes poisonous. It's recommended to abstain from drinking for three days before and after eating them. Fairy ink caps are crumbly and generally not considered worth eating even by those who enjoy inky caps.
