There are about a million times as many non billionaires as billionaires though. Yes, we need to get rid of billionaires, but please do what you can for the environment as well. If you’re on lemmy, chances are you’re in a country that pollutes more than the world average (as I am), so we especially should try to live more sustainably as well.

Fuck donating to anything through major corporations though, that’s basically money laundering for tax rebates

Well, we should still be somewhat ecologically responsible for moral reasons. But the real impact is dismantling the billionaires and influencing policies.

If it's mostly jets and boats, what happens to climate goals if those were suddenly regulated? Or even outlawed? You know, for the sake of the world?

So, as pointed out in another similar post, these figures include the investments as well. A little misleading in the title, but technically true. Either way, it's insane how often the average citizen gets preached to about their individual carbon footprint.
