For part of a previous job I had to meet a bunch of people from GCHQ regularly.
Most of them were super friendly, but very obviously out at extremes of the spectrum. They were the kinds of people that other mathematicians would notice as being a bit odd.
Yeah, during the process of diagnosing my youngest, I chatted up one of the doctors, and she was telling me about how certain professions are packed with neurodivergent people, who are more qualified than the typicals.
I guess being hyper interested in something can lead to gaining a lot of knowledge.
