I imagine that there is a small yet passionate group of Ben 10 fans who are torn apart by this news.
So what do you think? Did we dodge a bullet or miss an opportunity?
If that promo picture is anything to go by I think we missed out on a "so bad it's good" opportunity
I got Green Lantern flashbacks from that promo image.

It's a tricky one but if not done really well (or just done cynically to start a franchise) I could imagine it being awfully cheesy. However, as the option has lapsed, it may be some with more enthusiasm for it might take it on.
