Amen! Audiences today are such snowflakes that this movie would be immediately cancelled.

I'm boycotting watching the movie by seeding several torrents of it to show other people how much I disapprove

Fandom!Old = one who has been in a certain fandom for a long time.

Crack-ship = Shipping is a romantic and/or sexual pairing of two fictional characters. A crack-ship is a ship that makes no logical sense, as if it was conceived with heavy drug use, or made "on crack".

AO3 = Archive of Our Own, a website for fanfictions, fan art, fan videos, and other fan-produced content for various different fandoms. One may find many crack-ships here.

I think a ship between deadpool and Wolverine makes a lot of sense though. At least from the perspective of it being a piece of entertainment media. They have experiences they share exclusively, as well as personal, natural ones. They have a lot in common, in terms of interest, history, social circles. They also have very divergent personalities. It is perfect ship material.

Not exactly.

Deadpool doesn't have the claws, or the heightened senses, and he seems to “heal” somewhat faster (though that's probably due to Wolverine's heavy metal poisoning due to the adamantium skeleton; he heals faster if he doesn't have it, but also becomes more animalistic).

Also, Wolverine's healing factor would probably be able to deal with the cancer (he's been alive for over two hundred years without developing a single tumour), while Deadpool's barely manages to keep the cancer from killing him, because it also sort of makes it super cancer; he exists in a constant balancing act between the cancer and a runaway healing factor killing him. If he were to be cured of the cancer without also removing the healing factor, it wouldn't be pretty:

And, of course, as much trauma as he has, Wolverine isn't insane enough to break the fourth wall.

you should bottle up whatever you just said and sell it to the kids as new slang.

just say it's post-ironic meta humor they'll lap it up

I’m pretty sure AO3 is a fan fiction site. And they are saying that Deadpool and wolverine are just an absurd ship you would find in the craziest fanfic.

Fandom!old means he is saying this as an elder member of the fandom

This has an extra layer of amusement for anyone who knows where your name came from.

Looking at the thumbnail and I thought it was going to be a weird AI homoerotic photo of the two. Nope just a homoerotic photo of the two from the movie.

Took me a while to figure out what Weird Al has to do with this.

You know he put out a press release admitting that his entire last album was Al generated?

Hmm I missed that and can't find anything about it.

Well it was just a joke based on the fact that Al and AI look identical in most fonts, and difficult distinguish in most others.

So, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will have to be kept safe in the vault with other classics like “Blazing Saddles,”

Funny that the article mentions that as the theater I went to had an ad for an event screening of Blazing Saddles before Deadpool & Wolverine started

Movies definetly successful but I tend to rapidly lose interest in these multiple timeline/dimension plots. I switched off completely when Loki, Spiderman, Dr Strange and now Deadpool have used the same plot.

I can't argue with success though so maybe it's a me thing.

5

I mean the movie was basically a satire of the multi-dimensional thing.

6

I don't get the downvotes, you just stated your opinion. I personally can't get enough of multiuniverse time line shenanigans. It's great we live in a world where we both can find the type of media we love at relatively high quality.

ludreply

Pretty sure they even say in the movie that they should stop with the multiverse stuff.

4

The movie was fantastic. If you didn't see it, I highly recommend it. It's not really about multiple timelines, even tho that's a plot point.
