Last year I was bothered by the randomness of fonts even in single words and sentences, and started that font guide thing. Immediately afterwards I tried to plan a nicer looking frame for it that can fit more, and have it for this event if anyone wants that or cares.
I also want to get anyone's opinions on changing letters to be better if you have ideas, because I'm sure I'm not the best at this but I want it to be appealing enough to use.
The main 2 things I tried to focus on is readability, and making sure each symbol can fit in 5x3 pixels.
Looks great! You could probably even squeeze in a semicolon, square brackets, and curly braces.

How big will the canvas be this year? There was a fair bit of whitespace last year, but even with minimal notice limited only to Lemmy, it was almost the perfect amount for everything to fit without overlapping

For the noobs, you should explain what this actually is. All I have is a name and a date. No deets.
Not sure if you ever worked it out but this is like r/place on reddit. There's a big board, and people can place one pixel at a time. Then you have to wait some amount of time until you can place another pixel. People work together to try to create art.
I eventually worked it out, but the point was to help others.

I added an .ics link to canvas.fediverse.events but it looks like that doesn't have great support :/
