Every new season comes with 50 new and continuing animes releases. This bubble has been threating to pop for awhile now.

Reading through the article, it seems like this case can be chalked up to (likely) criminal mismanagement. I mean...giving huge unsecured loans to company executives while at the same time not paying the royalties you owe to other production committee members. It just sounds like embezzlement with extra steps.

Those are separate matters as far as I am concerned. Gainax has been effectively defunct for years now and on the decline for more than a decade.

I mean, you're right, but Gainax hardly released anything the past 10 years. The last full TV anime production was in 2015 (from what I can see on Anilist). After that only a few shorts. So I don't think Gainax's bankruptcy has anything to do with that.

The creators of Ebichu are dead.

This sucks

Edit: FLCL is now in the hands of the original creator though...and Ebichu is hopefully in a better place
