Huh, apparently I can do about stage 2.5 but it makes the inside of my nose hurt. I wish I didn't know this about myself

Edit: I now also have a massive headache. 0/10 experience

I'm decent at harmonica, mimicking bird calls, and getting all the batter off mixer attachments. I'm struggling with pronouncing Swedish "ö" though

Doing it gradually is the best approach. I built up to 2.5 after a few months of just messing around. It never really gave me a headache that I can recall, but I don't get headaches very often either.

I think the best approach for me is to keep this one on the shelf of "novel but not to be done". It will live between my ability to cross one eye at a time at the cost of spotty vision and migraines an hour later, and flexing my back just right to pop a rib out of place which looks amusing but hurts for days

I have you tagged with "ask about the stick" sadly I did not save the "why" lol.

I was curious too, so I went to the Wikipedia page:

The goal is to attain liberation in the body, by sealing in the energy of bindu in the head so that it is not lost.

Haṭha yoga is a branch of the largely spiritual practice of yoga, though it makes use of physical techniques; it was developed in medieval times, much later than the meditative and devotional forms of yoga. Its goals however are similar: siddhis or magical powers, and mukti, liberation. In Haṭha yoga, liberation was often supposed to be attainable in the body, made immortal through the practices of Haṭha yoga. Among its techniques were mudrās, meant to seal in or control energies such as kundalini and bindu. Khecarī mudrā is one such technique.

tl;dr - A spiritual practice of yoga in Hindu metaphysics.

I'm guessing you could blow some wicked tuneful raspberries

In stereo too

Do you ask why when someone builds a castle in Minecraft?

Edit not criticizing you, just making a joke 😅

But you've also given the mucus a pathway straight down your own throat

3

Umm...

...

...

It already has it. The mucus already goes down your throat, no matter what you do. You swallow mucus every time you get sick.

2

Why not? No real reason other than a novelty and it's easier to get the dried-on mucus off in the morning or the rare occasion when I'm sick.

It's also easier to get popcorn kernels unstuck from my back of my throat when that happens and easier to extract tonsil stones without using my finger or a different oral tool.

Also, as I've replied to other comments, I've got a slightly higher mucus production than most people seem to naturally have. So it helps to not have to blow my nose as often.

It certainly would be a dumb way to die. Thankfully, I've never experienced anything close to choking on my own tongue.

I know the song/meme, but that makes me wonder, what would you consider to be the smartest way to die?

Would it be possible to stretch a different organ to reach a different cavity?

41

I will still try. A little lubrication would help. Would You do the honor, or will your mom do it, as usual?

I can do that!

To a degree at least, just got gratually better over the last few years without deliberate stretching or severing anything. Altho I mostly use it to get slime out of my throat instead of caughing. Now just tried it to get up to my nose, nothing there at the moment.

I guess I am almost at the "third stage" distance wise.

It helps to exhale quickly to get the meatflap out ontop of the thongue. (Second picture)

I've did research if one could choke on their own thongue several times, because I was worried that it would "fall down there" or get stuck or sth, like a dislocated jaw or a scrotum torsion or sth.

Same here. But I can reach the start of my sinuses. The discomfort vanishes with regular training. I was a bored child.

I can also pick my tonsil stones out with my tongue. X)

I haven't had a frenulum since infancy (believe it or not, from a near fatal teething incident) and have always been able to do this. I used to frak people out by making my tongue disappear while I was a kid.

29
lemm.ee

Okay so like. Wtf does it feel like. And does it make you sneeze like crazy?

22

It doesn't make me sneeze and it's not uncomfortable unless you recently ate spicy or acidic food.

18

I've never given myself a sinus infection in the 10 years I've been doing this, but others might?

I naturally produce more mucus than most people anyway. I'm not really sure, maybe it's minor dust allergies? It generally makes things easier for me to manage.

13
lemmy.world

omg i can actually do this also guys don't do it, your nose needs the mucus, if you lick it all off from inside it starts to hurt

24

You can do this naturally with no practice? You're some kind of hatha yoga chosen one. Unlock your deep chakra and send the tongue to the heart.

3

Your mileage may vary for sure. I naturally produce more mucas than most people, but not an obscene amount or anything. I don't remember it ever starting to hurt after I did it unless I ate acidic or spicy food recently though.

Surley your time would be better spent practicing self fellatio until you are 10/10 at it ?

Now, I am l assuming here that you're a dude because... well...

21

This is second hand info, I'm nowhere near limber or big enough, but I saw a comment from someone who allegedly was able to self fellate. Apparantly the overall impression is that it is more like sucking dick than getting your dick sucked. I'm not implying that it's a bad thing, just know what to expect before committing to a rigorous training regiment with that goal in mind. Or whatever, you do you. 😏

I've thought about it, I dunno, I guess I'm happy enough with all the sex toys I own. 😂

3

I've seen people in videos online that could do it. I'm not there yet and I'm not sure I ever will or really want to be. It'd be a neat party trick if I could.

Imagine if someone with a bifurcated tongue did it and had one coming out of each nostril.

11
feddit.de

Wait, but did you sever your "frenulum of the tongue" for that? I just tried and that is what's preventing me from doing it.

7
MeDuViNoXreply
sh.itjust.works

No, it just stretched out over time. I never cut it, but sometimes it would form a type of scab for a few days.

It might be partially severed, but my tongue doesn't look crazy long like the people who get it surgically done like Gene Simmons from KISS.

Question, would this make being sick and congested better? Could you keep your nose clean of the stuff you can't blow out normally? Or is that a closed sinus issue

5

It makes things easier for me for sure. I naturally produce more mucus than most people anyway. I'm not really sure, maybe it's minor dust allergies?
