Ever wonder why you never see Clark Kent and Superman in the same room?

Also, let me guess that the OOP also believes that the second amendment should be abolished and that we can peacefully vote the police out of existence? The left's aversion to responsible firearm ownership will be (and, is) the literal death of them. I fear.

Original original poster. Not the original poster in this context being the person who posted to Lemmy, but instead the original original poster that made the tweet in the first place

I hate that Rambo fantasies have taken hold on the left now too.

They think they can win against a police force that's been getting all the equipment the U.S. military doesn't want anymore for decades.

It's not going to happen. I'm sorry, it's just not.

I think they absolutely can win - just not the way the think they can, by busting out their glorious .22 (but in scawwy black so you know it's MILITARY) and going head to head with THE OPPRESSOR

Like, the examples of guerrilla warfare and government overthrows through the past two centuries are countless, and privately owned firearms have rarely played a major role, much less a pivotal one. Yet time and time again, these people buy into the same cheap propaganda that GOP fascists do.

You're right. I wasn't thinking about guerilla tactics, I was thinking about their fantasy of a direct shooting war with the cops like some sort of modern gunfight at the O.K. Corrall. The cops won in that situation too, incidentally.

They also really don't like it when you ask them when they're going to stop talking about it on Lemmy and start the glorious revolution.

They found and seized three weapons on Jan. 6th. 99% of the guns there were on government employees.

I should have said firearms. I don't remember where I read it, but I read that only three people were charged for firearms possession. The story you linked doesn't seem to debunk that. It seemed relevant to the thread because it started with the idea that police don't mess with armed protesters. Most of the people were smart enough to bring other weapons because of DC gun laws. Which if Democrats ever managed to disarm all the powerless people in the nation, this is a reminder that people without guns can fuck shit up too. I wish Democrats were more left and less anti-gun.

As the article says, just because three people were charged with having them doesn't mean they were the only people who had them.

You reached the end
