Loudest the fans have been all game and it's to celebrate them conceding, what the actual fuck is wrong with that club man

7
lemmy.world

And that is why they'll never even come close to winning anything else. Who the fuck roots for their team to lose?

Only excuse is for an El Sackico kinda thing and even then like ehhhhhhh. no.

can't imagine why the Premier League struggles with city dominance when fans suck them off like this

2

Tribalism is idiotic. They say that we'll do that if we're in the same position, fuck that they irrelevant so why would we care?

2
lemmy.world

Feel free to use this tomorrow as a match thread for the City game btw lol

I dont know that I have the fortitude to watch it. 1) Spurs are so shit that I see very little point in it. 2) I had enough of supporting chaos bullshit ball under Emery to last a life time- and that's been you add the shit sauce into the mix.

3
slrpnk.net

never thought I'd say this but; Come on you spurs!

6
lemmy.world

I've conceded, just going to enjoy Sunday. I mean it's still pins and needles watching the games but far less stressful and more enjoyable this season.

On a side note, I didn't really like the second episode of this season of Doctor Who...it was like that scene in Multiverse of Madness but expanded.

Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

The annoying thing is it was the best scene in MoM, but done worse :p Space Babies was brilliant though I thought. Also it's kinda funny how this community has now just basically become partially about Doctor Who XD though honestly we can talk about whatever in Daily Discussion that's the point

Space Babies was ruined by that constant Disney soundtrack in the background, killing the dialogue and sound effects a lot of the time.

3

that's just Doctor Who though, at least given what i've watched of the first few seasons lmfao

That being said, Maestro is good, and the acting was great; the story just didn't quite hit for me.

3

Oh no Maestro was good, but I agree with my friend, all we could think about was Hocus Pocus

3

And maybe it's cuz I'm jumping between Matt Smith and Ncuti, but the effects feel very excessive. It's not dingy enough for Doctor Who, you know what I mean?

3
lemmy.world

My 6 year old, not bothered about snot monsters, but is now terrified of being attacked by musical notation...

Gotta admit, I'm not sold on this iteration of the doctor yet, but I was the same with all the new Who's aside from Peter Capaldi. But I loved him as Malcolm Tucker beforehand.

3
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

Tbh they should've done the music differently, just using notation in the same way as MoM felt almost lazy in a way?

Yknow what would've been cool: if it worked like sonic waves instead — then you could have more interaction with the new totally-still-a-screwdriver.

3
lemmy.world

I mean they're still working with a budget, D+ involvement means more but probably not a huge difference. Plus Who is known for their terrible fx lol

2

It absolutely is hilarious that Spuds fans absolutely do not understand the monetary implications of them losing out on CL. Pathetic bunch.

4

It makes me chuckle to think of the spuds fans' glee over this loss. I bet most of them think all gooners are raging or in tears about this.

Joke's on them. Many of us kind of knew City would win this one (and almost certainly the league). But at the end of the day our team has gone toe-to-toe against one of the best teams in the world, and our lads can hold their heads high.

Finishing on even 86 points; with our keeper winning the golden glove; and the lads not being defeated by any other top six teams is just amazing. We have one of the best young managers in the game who loves our club to his core. An amazing squad that is still improving game by game, and who play some of the best football in the world. The club is being run by guys who are formidable in the transfer market. And we have owners who, love them or hate them, have backed us very well financially for a few seasons now. We are on the up, and finishing a narrow second this season is nothing to be ashamed of.

Meanwhile, Spurs has a shaky squad that has faded hard, a joke of an owner, a thoroughly disillusioned manager, and a fan base that gets more joy out of seeing their team lose than win.

So enjoy you 15 minutes of gloating at our expense, spuds. We'll be back even better and stronger next season. Where will you be? Lmao

4

So about 95% of spuds fans hate their more successful rival than they love their own club. And the minority who are hoping for a win today are being slated by the rest as 'glory hunters' and fake fans.

Though TBF, there's not much to love about that wretched organization. Maybe they should go back to being a cricket club.

4

In hindsight, that January window with Trossard, Jorginho, and Kiwior was a masterpiece; we'd be fucked if we didn't have any one of them this season.

4
lemmy.world

hey they said like, 25 points from behind and 20 dropped from up front tbf

4

Honestly they look better than I expected, though City are still clearly the better team.

2
lemmy.world

You gotta feel for Ange. He actually wants to do a proper job and you got this culture inside and out. Mourinho is 100% correct about Spurs.

5
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

I think he's gonna end up resigning at some point. How do you manage a team like them? I feel like it's genuinely not gonna change unless they straight up get relegated. When you can be happy with losing a game, you've no longer got a football club.

5
lemmy.world

I actually rather him take over West Ham, he came a season too early

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

Oh that would be cool to see. Or a team like Luton, honestly, could see something interesting happening there.

2

You know it's a biased decision when they absolutely refuse to show a replay on TV, instead choosing to just show us the manager drinking water

3
lemmy.world

Walters apparently refused our contract offer and is leaving. Those early PL draws in the cups are gonna come back to bite us huh.

3
lemmy.world

It's going to keep happening, unfortunately. On one hand, the level of our academy had to catch up with the senior squad's improvement, but at the same time, it's very disappointing to see almost none of our academy players get a run out.

4
lemmy.world

I kind of disagree with Arteta's attitude that we have to try and win every single match (with regards to the cups). I would much prefer we play a core of Odegaard + Saliba + Gabriel, then slot in as many academy up-and-comers as possible. I'm sick of seeing Saka booted up and down the pitch (even harder than usual) and our entire squad's fitness depleted for no real reward.

4

Tbf he does rotate in the cups, the problem is that the fringe players aren't good enough to win lmfao. The fringe players do need game time. My main complaint was just that game against PSV we coulda rotated more, but it is the Champions League and we did already rotate some.

3

We've got a few in the next group that will make it, I think. Nwaneri, MLS, both seem like Premier League is reasonably attainable. And eventually there's good vibes on Dowman and Obi as well tho ofc it's wayyyyyy too early to tell for both of those.

2

Sleeping with the bed stripped bare and no blanket is horrible. Gonna have to do this tonight as well lol. Everything's in storage boxes already :P

2
lemmyis.fun

Why bring Shaun Wright Philips to the HT show? Irrelevant Man City player from when they were a true club.

2
lemmy.world

Irrational me: we also have Mikel Arteta to thank for this City team btw

What's even the point anymore?

2
lemmy.world

Arteta's not the one who bought two top-class squads' worth of players with oil money.

2

True, but (from what we've heard since he left) most of the players that he worked most closely with have departed at this point.

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

Eh on one hand I agree on the other hand Gunners will always be Gunners to me unless they pull a RvP, and also the new league format thing means we shouldn't want anyone to get plastered, a whole bunch of mediocrity is better for us cuz it's easier to climb spots lol

2

The Twitch chat next to the stream I'm watching are getting my hopes up. Apparently Kylie Jenner makes it 11-1 in the 89'.

2
lemmy.world

We lost it with the Villa game. Next season we really cannot drop points against these wankers and Fulham.

1
lemmy.world

Think we would have done better vs Villa had we not screwed the pooch against Bayern?

1

It doesn't - I think they're a bit of a bogey side for us, and they seem good at forcing errors from us.

1

Convenient that the PGMOL mandate to allow more contact in the box without calling a pen expires just now

5

So that's .... what, 6 minutes of time wasted right there? I'm sure we'll see plenty of time added on to compensate.

Idk what this figure of speech is called, look at the comment on this thread right before this one. This and that express the same sentiment. Agreeing with a remotely held(albeit wrong) narrative in a facetious manner similar to saying "I have faith in Moyesball".

Too bad I can't attach my facial expressions with comments.

1

There's that and then there's dissing our own to do so. There was no need to insinuate sarcastically or not that Bowen is better than Saka especially since we all know you don't mean that...
