Formerly Chief Technology Officer of SuSE and Unix Architect of Deutsche Bank
Developer and contributor in Linux and open source since the early 1990s. He was one of the early Linux kernel developers and has contributed to several dozen open source projects over the years.
I can see how one might interpret it that way, but it could also be that Linus is important and deserves introduction, where this other Dirk guy just serves as facilitator and so doesn't warrant introduction.
The title assumes we know this Dirk guy, but might not have heard of Linus...
