If the apocalypse turns out to be sinkholes I’ll be impressed with the universe’s creativity

Interesting thought. All that allows human civilization to exist is a small amount of dirt under each of us at all times.

We are 8 billion sinkholes away from extinction at most. Realistically, since we cluster, you can probably eliminate us with about 80 million.

In case you wonder, the man who was killed, his remains were never found. Future generations exploring the limestone under this location I suppose will find him.

When I was a kid I worried about quicksand. Ahh youth! Now as an adult I can worry about sinkholes.....and quicksand. Omg a sinkhole filled with quicksand!! Like a final level....

I don’t know how anyone affords insurance in Florida or how insurance companies there stay in business…

Well, they're not staying in business there. Farmers just pulled out of Florida because it's a net loss for them to insure anyone there because of the extreme weather changes brought by climate change.

Did they try to shoot at it? That seems to be the go-to solution for things in FL these days.
