Are they prisoners of war or are they an enemy (to the Russians) squad after a battle? It's not clear to me from what was shown.

They appear to be disarmed and possibly wounded with the shooter moving calmly from one person to the next and executing them based on the video in the article. It's unlikely they're combatants at this point which would make them prisoners.
