Have to agree a little bit with op though, LJ. I bought Reddit Sync Pro about 4 times over the decade+ that I used it because I was happy to pay a fiver to get rid of the ads and support your work

If they want to charge for apps they can, I like boost, it’s a good app and I’m happy to pay for it. Sync is also a good app but it’s too expensive.
Well foss ones are really good in my opinion and they are free

Better at the bottom of the screen? That way it wouldn't need to reserve the space.
I mean, that would be better, but I think it would be better to have it only in the main feed as it used to :)

mods deleting recommendations for other apps as spam. Those apps don’t spam you with ads. unlike sync.
Literally the only rule in the sidebar.

I don't see pinned posts in my UI. Where are they?

I wonder if it is because I clicked on them sometime before and now they're hidden in Sync. I couldn't find a quick way to see hidden posts.
Anyway, I did restore purchases and now ads are gone
Do you have it set to show posts over the last "x" hours? That'll hide the pinned posts if they're not in that timeframe

I could would suggest you take a voyage around the App Store for Lemmy apps. I won’t name any. But there are many good ones.

Mlem is free and improving, and I have yet to see an ad injected into the client

Connect doesn't have ads.. I don't understand why people opt for apps with ads. Are they much better? Connect gives me everything I'm looking for
Connect has ugly fonts. If it looked as nice as Sync, I'd switch in a second.
