The home fans should have stayed just for the love of the game. Appreciate the goals, whoever scores them.

5

I don't know why they would have expected anything different. Wouldn't surprise me if they only turned up to see if Sheffield caused an upset

1

Agreed. Out of all the teams, I wouldn't mind them staying up. I think they were one of the worst PL teams as well only a couple of seasons ago? I could be mistaken

2
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

May they forever be lost into obscurity. Who we talking about again?

1

I honestly feel bad for Sheffield. Five-nil down at home before half time. That's humiliating no matter who you are facing.

That said.... Keep the goals coming lads!

Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

nah that's a genuine one from me ngl, get some chemistry back in just in case raya does get injured, plus gives ramsdale the chance to try doing what raya does without nearly as much fear of conceding

4
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

My feelings on Raya have changed. I didn't see what Ramsdale had done that was so egregious to be left out the way he has.

I've warmed up to him though and you can see what he brings to a team. Just sucks the way it eventuated though after having such a big season for us.

3

I still don't know whether he's 30 million plus all that controversy worth but yeah definitely do think he's better. Ramsdale is a top keeper though and we should be trying to keep him happy if possible.

3
lemmy.world

Put Aaron up front or as a false 9. Can you imagine his shit-housing if he got a goal?

4

Just like how Wenger used to put midfielders on the wing to learn to play with limited space

1

What if that's been Arteta's plan all along... Ramsdale new striker confirmed

3

So, here's a fun stat...

Since the start of January, (in the league) we've scored TEN TIMES more goals than we've conceded!

Scored 30

Conceded 3

WTF?!!

5
lemmy.blahaj.zone

Guys Neeve Stichol from ESPN says we need a striker to solve our goalscoring problems, what do you think 🤔🤔🤔

4

Lads I said it's been 5 minutes since we last scored, what the fuck are you doing, why is saliba behind the halfway line

4

(by the way in case it's not obvious all the criticism is tongue in cheek I love how we're playing lol)

4

i think the lemmy update made the notifications update better for me LMFAO but tbh you ain't wrong we've had chances enough for 3 genuinely lol

3
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

Good to see. Last on the table but, they don't stop supporting. Unlike Fulham, haha

4

definitely a bit complacent but like, we're 6 nil up they can have a little complacency as a treat XD

3

NGL, our bench is stacked. Partey, Gabi J, Trossard, ESR, Nketiah, Nelson.

Jorginho and Elneny didn't even make it onto the bench.

Far cry from several years ago. We've come a long way!

Edit: oh nevermind, I just realized Jorginho is playing. But still, our bench is stacked.

2
lemmy.world

this isn't good enough. what are we doing not scoring the sixth?? even arteta doesn't look happy.

4

seriously though why does Arteta have a resting face that's so meh lol, we're 5 nil up mate smile a bit

2
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

I kinda felt like that before the 1st, lol. They opened up so easily it was just a given

4

tbh yeah, it didn't even feel worth celebrating. I do'nt think I've celebrated any of them besides the Havertz one because it's Havertz lol

2
lemmy.world

The best part is the lads don't look like they're satisfied, still just constant attacking lol

4
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

Just don't want us to concede because of complacency, but agreed!

2

if conceding one means we score another 3 cuz of how far up Saliba and Gabriel and Kiwior are I frankly don't care XD

3
lemmy.world

Well cock... hopefully it's just a twisted ankle or something. He looks to be in pain though

3

I hope. If it's just a twisted ankle hurts like a bitch but will be fine in a few...he was down for a bit

2

might as well pass the ball to Sam Barrott, he probably wants some of the action ngl lol

3
lemmy.world

just a tiny bit early cuz why not XD didn't want to wait like a minute lol

3

Kiwior has been an outstanding stand in during this period, hope he grows more into the position

3

That ball should have been dealt with, tbh. Not sure why they left that

3
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

There are so many favourite players, but I love how easily he slotted into his role and has been banging in goals somewhat consistently.

2
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

This tickled me the right way and I now kinda want some KFC

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

probably our deepest attacking spot, we'll be fine at least

3

True... I can't help but feel we need everyone on board towards the run into the end of the season. Especially with CL starting up again

3

If my old man was watching this he'd be telling him to get up, lol

2
lemmy.world

Disappointed I can't watch the match live. But we're clearly performing very well. And I see that 'Own Goal' lad had got on the scoresheet again. He deserves an improved contact.

3

Been saying this for years!

It's been mentioned before, it's a televised training match. We've controlled the ball and Sheffield have been terrible.

Highlights should about cover it, lol

1
lemmy.world

had to switch up a stream cuz of some random issues and we're now at 3 lol

3
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

That's the freaking worst... I had a similar issue against Porto, only it was the other way around...

I like to think it was the universe telling me to walk away before it was too late, lol

3
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

i did catch a replay, but then had to switch streams again XD now listening to sky, don't recognise the voice ngl

2

Not sure who is commenting on mine but, they draw my ire sometimes with their shitty dinosaur takes.

2

I will say, Sheffield United have been better this half. Not making much difference but... better.

3

Martinelli looked like he was struggling just to get down the stairs

2
lemmy.world

"Only statistic they have in common is the number of games they've played" LMFAO

2

If our injuries lasted a bit longer Nwaneri wuold probably be on the pitch today

2

This is outrageous. Gunna have to not sharpen my pitchfork because they just scored as I was typing this

3

I don't think it was injury related but I'm not really sure how it shores up their defense either...

1

I would have thought it was tactical but, I could be wrong and probably missed something

1
lemmy.world

Saka didn't even manage to score a goal this game wdym world class smh

2

Can't be world class unless you score a brace to rescue your billion pound team after it's being kept goalless by one of the most statistically anomalous teams in the Prem 🙄

3
lemmy.world

need more goals, it's been another 10 minutes lads, not good enough.

2
lemmy.world

Lmao Cedric incoming. I'm serious, I feel bad for Reiss and ESR...they need the minutes

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

eh they're just warming up, doesn't have to be them coming on lol — and tbf we don't need ESR like we need Cedric rn given the injuries we have. Though obviously annoying.

2

Doesn't feel like Arteta trusts ESR. But, I wonder if he'd prefer to give game time to Partey and Jesus

1
lemmy.world

Is it Beglin and Tyler for you? If it is then it's their normal voice

2
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

I think so? I honestly don't know. They seem to commentate a fair few Arsenal games

2
lemmy.world

Yeah I groan if it's anything Beglin...even worse is the Beglin and Proudfoot

1
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

I looked up a video and you nailed it. If I'm not mistaken Martin Tyler hasn't expressed emotion since the middle ages.

Jim Beglin's takes also really rub me the wrong was as well. He was the one that was moaning about our set-piece coach getting involved for a corner not too long ago

2

Brilliant, haha! Man, if that doesn't sum up how his commentating feels

1

Makes sense, unless Havertz comes off and you could slot ESR on that side and Jesus up front?

3

Look at that goal difference. I don't know if it will make a difference in the title race, but it's beautiful to see.

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

was it a set piece? I just remember it being from out of nowhere and it being a good shot lol, all blurring together for me

1

Same, I couldn't remember but seemed the most likely out of all of them, haha

2
lemmy.world

ok but seriously can we buy an upgrade for Cedric in the summer

2
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

I feel like Arteta may not. I guess he's a Elneny for that spot?

2
Astrealixreply
lemmy.world

Elneny clears him lol. I think Cedric's still here just cuz no one wants him whereas Elneny is here cuz he's proven to be worth still being here.

3

Have been made aware that Ramsdale has to play on Saturday cuz it's Brentford, doubling down; sub him on

2
lemmy.world

If this keeps up, you think Arteta brings Partey on around 50th - 70th minute? Or gives him another couple of games?

1
Nuggsyreply
lemmy.world

Apparently Gary Linneker was the complete opposite. Whenever his form was off, he'd get a haircut and he'd score the next game.

So, Kiwior with a goal this game!

1

Fair play to Gary, but Kiwior has been playing rather well lately, I would say. That being said, it's not like I expect Kiwior to shit the bed because of it

2
