Guy slaps band names randomly on a quadrant. Laughs as people analyse themselves in public

Top quality shit post

The moment I saw Deftones on the "horny" rather than "sad" side, I knew it was a shitpost.

I listen to literally none of these and I don't know what half of them are lol

Ive no doubt if you list some of what you do listen to the comments will help you figure out whether they go on this graph in lol

1

Ah shit, you got me with NIN, Deftones, and Godspeed but I'm not celibate and even if I was, joke's on you: I love masturbating!

I also love Radiohead, weezer, BCNR, Swans and joy division… soooo

5

Okay clearly weezer is not post rock, but there is an overwhelming presence of the genre in this list.

2

If you swapped out Weezer and Joy Division for Nine Inch Nails and Have a nice life we'd have exactly the same taste

Damn I listen to like 70% of these bands. I should tell my gf that we are everything that's wrong.

12

Same, not sure what incel has to do with it though. You can be a horny misogynistic sad misanthrope without being an incel.

I fundamentally object to the horny / sad dichotomy. off to have a good crywank

More people need to read Metamorphosis by ShindoL.

Oh shit, I like NIN. I didn't even realize I was an incel.. What do I tell my wife? "Horny misanthrope" is pretty fair though, I guess.

I’m horny, sad, and misanthropic, but I’m not a misogynist and I still like Neutral Milk Hotel. Clearly this chart is a farce, a scam!

9

I’m still trying to figure that one out. I must not have listened to them that closely? I haven’t listened to that album in like a decade. Somehow they’re one pixel higher than Ye.

Deathgrips placement seems right though, and Joy Division, Godspeed! and Weezer (I don’t care for weezer tho). I haven’t heard the other bands enough to have an opinion. I should probably listen to more Radiohead….

Misanthropic means hating humanity. Misandrist means hating men. Trent Reznor is absolutely a misanthrope, or at least the character he is when writing/performing NIN songs is.

12

Yeah, because it's obviously a shitpost intended to get a reaction out of fans of those bands. All I'm saying is that their list could be a little more complete. Like put king gizzard on there.

9

Damn, I like The Smiths, Radiohead, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Pavement, and Weezer. Somehow I managed to cover the whole board.

Presumably Lennon being a domestic abuser to his first wife though I'm not sure it comes through in their music.

More confused about Radiohead. If Radiohead isn't just broadly misanthropic then what is?

13

Yes, but the creepy incel weirdo is not exactly portrayed as positive, right? I don't find that song misogynistic at all.

2

By that token, Red House Painters should be higher on the misogynistic scale

Well, none of the bands I listen to are on this list. But then again you have to want sex to be an incel.

Mostly Metal and Punk. Ones like Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, Walls of Jericho, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Aborted, Cancer Bats, D.O.A, Dead Kennedy's...

7

You can tell this meme is bullshit because American football are in the horn quadrant, not the sad one despite being pretty much THE definitive sad boy music.

4

I listen to at least 1 or 2 artists from each quadrant, but most of them are in the bottom two... 🤔

Deftones, Godspeed! You, Slint (well, technically I listen to Pinback but it's the same dudes and they reference Slint all the time), Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails... Haven't even heard of the others down there.

4

A Deafheaven reference appears in the wild! Oddly enough with Sunbather, one of their best albums, next to it... Unless there's a band called Sunbather?

3

Why isn't there a misanthropic/angry quadrant? Where do Marduk and Goatwhore go?

2

Ok, I see Joy Division there, but where does New Order fit in, or is that when they started moving their hips?

Personally, I prefer that halfway point of "Power, Corruption & Lies", not Joy Division anymore, not the stadium/beer commercial monsters they eventually turned into.

2

Was really hoping to see new order on there as like a polar opposite of joy division
