Skywind is now also on Lemmy!
We're remaking Morrowind as a total conversion mod for Skyrim. We've been on Mastodon for a while now, and today seems as good a day as any to also start sharing on Lemmy. Looking forward to seeing this community grow!

Sick! I never actually played morrowind, but so much of the lore stems from that game, I am waiting to sink my teeth into it. Really excited for Skywind.
We're just as excited to get it finished and release it to the world! It's an insane amount of work, and the Creation Engine doesn't offer many shortcuts.
The lore discussions behind the Nerevarine and its whole quest are great. Wish more games had such interesting plotlines.

I've been waiting for this for so long, but I'll wait as long as I need to for it to be finished! I've never really played through Morrowind so it will be a brand new adventure for me.
Followed the development for quite a while. This mod seems so huge it is hard to believe it is in Skyrim. Very hype
Kind of you! There's no escaping the fact that it's fundamentally a Skyrim mod, but we do try to change the flavor as significantly as we can to make it both fun and a little different.
There was no way of escaping Enderal being a Skyrim mod, too, yet it's one of my favorite action RPGs of all time. I'm sure y'all will do a stellar job!
Any thought on OpenMW? Is it feasible to have open source Skyrim?
OpenMW is an incredible project that goes a very long way to making Morrowind easily playable on modern machines. I can't really comment on the (theoretical) possibility of the same for Skyrim, it's not our area of expertise - but on paper, at least, I would guess so?

It's definitely closer. The showcases they've done since always show a ton of progress. Excited to see what this year's CMC (in August) will bring.
What will come out first fusion power stations or Skywind/Skyblivion?
