I finally got my ADHD medicine refilled after months of issues.

When I'm on it, it's like I remember how to be happy (I also have Depression).

I know that feel. Got an appointment with my shrink next Friday myself.

The potatoes i grew that i put in storage at the end of last year look like they’ve successfully turned into seed potatoes and I’m excited to plant them this year ^_^

There's a 1/81 probablity that I am her crush :)

How'd you calculate that? 9 people, and everyone has exactly one crush?

8
sagreply

So, Here's how I calculated it. She have 81 followers on Instagram. She told me That her crush follow her. If I only count Boys then probability will increase.

I have been collecting game consoles for nearly a decade, and the collection is beginning to round off. I have nearly every Atari, Sega, Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox console released in North America. It has taken a long time, and a lot of deal finding, but it is a rewarding task/hobby.

Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately time isn’t something I have much of, but when I do I try my best to sit down and play something. I usually tend to lean towards my NES or Super Nintendo, but I just recently got an Atari Jaguar and a copy of Doom. So that’s been the latest time waster : )

Have any good ones for your PS1? I always loved Crash Bandicoot 3, childhood classic for me!

I have one of my favorite games on it: Final Fantasy IX

I'd like to get the original Resident Evil, but the PS1 version is super expensive now

Trust me when I say; The video game market went up during Covid, and now it just denies to go back down. I’ve bought a couple consoles from Japan just because they’re cheaper, and some of them are region free.

I used to have a N64, GameCube, PS2, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, and Wii, but I gave them away. I never thought they'd go up in price so drastically.

I’m fairly sure all of those except the PS2 and Wii are region free (without modding). If you ever go to wanting them back, grab one on eBay from Japan. Significantly cheaper, and you can play the same games!

Final Fantasy IX always intrigued me, I love the look of the game to bits but idk whether I could get through it

Thinking about my loving wife and perfect pups waiting for me at home.

Something that makes me happy is having a personal project to work on. Like right now, I'm brainstorming and doing research for writing a fanfic. Have I ever written a fic before? No. Will I actually write this one? It doesn't matter. I'm having fun preparing for it, and if I get distracted by some other project and start working on that instead, and the cycle perpetuates indefinitely and I never finish a single project, it doesn't matter. I'm enjoying the journey.

I’m going to go for a nice nature hike this weekend. It’s going to be cold outside but just the right kind of cold where my fingers don’t get numb, and my face gets and stays chilly the whole time. Will be good. High chance of seeing a squirrel or squirrel like creature. I’ve got this perfect windbreaker that works great. I will probably start with silicon earbuds and music in but eventually take them off to really get some nature sounds in my life.

I will just have iced coffee in the morning, water during the day, and then just absolutely demolish some Mexican food on rare cheat meal after the hike.

That sounds absolutely amazing. Especially this:

just the right kind of cold where my fingers don't get numb, and my face gets and stays chilly the whole time.

You put that into words so well. I love that sensation. And the cool, fresh air, when you take a deep breath.

Making a nice meal for friends and family.

Which reminds me I haven't made buttermilk fried chicken in a while..

10
lemmy.world

Is buttermilk fried chicken easy to do without a deepfrier or lots of oil? I'm looking to make some food with my girlfriend that won't give away the fact I'm a massive dumbass in the kitchen.

Good buttermilk fried chicken does need a good shallow fry to have the crunch and moist meat inside.

I'm old fashioned and use a large cast iron skillet. I fill it about halfway with a neutral oil, something like safflower or peanut, or any oil with a high smoke point. Be sure that it gets to temperature (350°f/175°c). If you don't have a thermometer, put a small piece of bread and it gets golden brown in about a minute, the oil is hot enough.

Thanks, I think I'll give that a go since it doesn't sound too difficult. Gonna make some good shit👍

I like your username because I hear it every time I see it!

What makes me happy: uuuummm, it’s a secret lol. But your username also makes me happy, and so do your various posts! Hope your day improves!

I was in a work call today that ended with someone saying "Let's celebrate with more coffee!"

Guru energy drink is your friend. Acting like you are working is your profession for the day.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

That and showing my niece and nephew shows I liked when I was a kid and them also enjoying em.

Fire walk scenes in movies. You know its a dude in a suit, acting his heart out for a few brief moments of glory on screen, while on fire! Bonus if they’re falling off a building or something epic

An episode of Star Trek after a long day.

My friends/sibling.

Researching my niche interests/finding out I share a niche interest with someone.

Taking a mental health walk.

Snacking unhealthy amounts of camembert, drinking black tea and Berber (green tea with spearmint) tea, snacking cucumber.

Eating good Falafel/Sushi/Asian/Middle-Eastern cuisine.

A good workout/feeling completely exhausted after doing martial arts.

Being able to help other people.

And because of your username: playing TotK.

My wife let me buy a Prelude for my birthday last year. It was a big deal because we don't normally have the cash on hand to just buy a car, and she put off some house projects she really wanted to get done to let me do it. The car does need some TLC, but it still runs and drives good half a year later. Sometimes people throw me a shaka sign or a thumbs up. I love getting to drive stick again. It makes driving fun, like I'm 16 again. Feels good, man. I'm one lucky guy, and my wife just gets me.

Seeing other people happy makes me happy.
Making other people happy gives me life.

And I've managed to make huuuge progress concerning certain blahaj-related things, and that is just... can't even put it into words, really

I was approached by a guy who recently moved to the area and needed help getting some things printed. I walked with him halfway to the library and we chatted about stuff. Hope to see him around town again

Consuming some japanese media with fast noodles. When I download a new tittle or start a new game it feels almost like a ritual to eat them. That's nothing like ramem MCs are consuming on-screen and not very healthy if eaten for long, yet it's fun.

5

I've been wanting to get into a new hobby but damn hobbies can be expensive. But it's giving me a sense of excitement I haven't had in a while and it breaks up the monotony of the working grind.

The one I'm trying to get into is homemade FPV drones. Building from scratch, just like building a PC. Sourcing the frame, motor, electronics. Soldering and configuring. Flight testing and tinkering. More fun I think than just buying an off-the-shelf DJI Mavic.

The parts themselves don't cost all that much but it adds up fast.

4

Puttering around the neighborhood on my feet or bike; feeling the sun on my face. Doodling. Relaxing in a clean home/warm bath. Strawberries. Walked my fur baby the other day and saw a honeybee when I saw none, all summer last year, that made me happy.

4

The most recent thing that's made me happy is the MST3K Forever-athon on YouTube/Twitch. I've been dealing with some stress in my personal and professional life, and having that to go back to whenever I need it is really nice.
