Because the shit scientists have been warning us about is finally kicking off.
The aerosols and el Niño don't explain what is going on with Antarctic extent. El Niño will exacerbate the issue but it started month before El Niño did.
I think we've crossed some unknown tipping point and fuck knows what's going to happen. My main worry is that the increase in sea temperature and El Niño will kill off of coral reefs, then we're fucked.
We're the frogs in the water rising to a boil... I believe we're gonna hit boiling temp very soon. Couple years tops. I think things are far worse than even science knows.
