This was hilarious! Thanks!

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like I wouldn't mind Beef Fizz too much. You just have to think about it like a soup. Why is soup not gross but beef fizz is? Dunno.

Me and my buddy really want to try it. It can't be as bad as the smoker's cough.

The smoker's cough was definitely concocted by someone particularly evil lol

When I first heard him say the ingredients, my mind thought of molasses and I was like "well that sounds delicious". I realized my cognitive error shortly thereafter

I wonder if you could find low sodium condensed broth; I imagine that would alleviate a lot of the unpleasantness. Because otherwise I also was pretty curious about the actual taste of the beverage

All hail Greg, patron saint of cocktails! His Manhattan matrix episode was so wild I still think about it periodically.

I asked my 8 year old what he thought of this recipe and he replied, "That's disgusting and whoever invented it should be executed immediately."

I wonder if that's like a trap street on a map or a fake number in a phone book, where they add it to what is otherwise just a list of recipes in order to give it a "creative" element and make it copyrightable.

This is the worst abomination I've seen since "Ohio-Valley" style pizza

That's funny to me, since I have spent decades in the Ohio Valley and have never heard of us having a style of pizza. Unless "barely edible" is a style.

edit: Oh, I remember this. Never seen it in the wild, though. After asking around, a friend tells me there's a place nearby that does sell pizza this way. (I'm still not trying it because I dont hate my tastebuds that much.)

I'm an Ohio native and learned about it in a thread a few days ago. I mean, I thought our school pizza was bad

This is everything I hate in a pizza. I hate sauce that is way too sweet and I hate cold pizza.

3

That doesn't sound nearly as bad as y'all made it seem like though. I went in fully expecting an abomination and all I got was a poorly cooked pizza.

Welcome to the "Beef and Dairy Network Podcast.". This week, we'll hear from Mavis of South Hampton, the inventor of that most popular drink, beef fizz.

I drank duck gravy the other day. No shame.

Bovril is another classic British staple that hasn't made a mark internationally.

Its like tea! But meat!

I haven't heard of either of those, but I absolutely put some better than boullion in a mug with boiling water to drink. Sometimes I dip toast in it, or a grilled cheese

Agree, who'd a thought beef, ginger and acidity would work together (billions in asia!?). I'm assuming most people here are american and addicted to refined sugars and syrups. Clearly not worked a hard day in the cold either. This brew would get you and metabolism going.

It's the carbonated aspect that makes it so bad, I think. Carbonated ginger? Sure! Carbonated beef broth? I'll pass. No thank you. That sounds disturbing.

3

Tbf idk that I'd want a nice refreshing cup of beef broth be it carbonated or flat. I like drinking beef broth...when eating soup not in place of lemonade or tea. The sheer insanity!

Beef Fizz?? I think I'll take my steak in a blender with some Dr. Pepper added.

5

Always save the beef chunks for later. They're great in a late night cocktail.
