I don’t know what “istors” are, but as fer me an my house, we serve the lord. If I sees ‘em, I burns ‘em. 😤

40

Honestly I'm not sure they even get it, so maybe they should

6

"Transparency" would implode their brains, it's just too much of a word for them to even try to comprehend.

"Trans-paren(like parents?)-cy(what? cyanide?) TRANS PARENTS ARE GIVING THEIR KIDS CYANIDE!!"

31

How in the blue hell do transparents have children in the first place????? I bet they steal them from good Christian parents and groom them to be woke!!!!! Like for a hallelujah, share for a amen!,!!

4

I made an llm transcriber for podcasts. Oh...I also added a translator. Is that a genderfluid? I am now realizing Fox News just kept saying things in a scary voice, but didn't actually provide any information

Oh God, that's what woke actually means, isn't it?

A lot’s changed. Back in my parents’ day, a trip to the city meant taking the

to the airport to fly a

and head for meetings and abortions at the

Seems like being trans back then must have been such a gift. People would obviously hold you in such high regard.

I'm picturing KITT saying, "Michael, you know I'm a they/them!" in that smarmy way KITT said things.

5

Michael used second person singular and proper nouns with KITT. Hope this helps!

It'll be hilarious if a thousand years from now historians think that we worshipped trans people as gods.

Why shouldn't we, anyway? Let's get on that.

historians think that we worshipped trans people

I’m sorry but is this not already settled canon? Submit to the faith, my child.

No, no I'm pretty sure the bigots support the deportation of trans people... They seem to want to deport everyone not white enough, why stop at race?

20

Oh man, every tranportation company here in europe is trans or trans. They would have an stroke if they ever ventured out of their basement into the world 😂

2

Do you suppose stupid bigots will avoid transplants because they don't want to become plants?

66

You know what's weird? If you do a transplant between trees it's called a graft. Transplant was right there smh

I feel bad for transphobes when they have to go to the store and make a transaction.

66

So much for my trans-Atlantic voyage. Guess I ll take the trans-Siberian train then. Comms are very bad there so ill take the trans-ceiver with me.

These istors keep messing with my power! I hear they're bipolar too.

All my plugs are male–male. I take all in stride:

  • the propaganda¹ against the life that works for me and
  • the plugs

Christmas lights often have a female plug on the end so you can chain another string to them. They also aren't designed to care which end the electricity is coming from.

Now if someone has strung up all their lights, except...oops, they got it backwards, the female end is where the male end should be, and the male end is hanging off the corner of the 2nd story roof, they might be tempted to just use a male to male cord to hook it up instead of having to pull down the entire thing and redo it the other way around.

4

But… there’s a male plug on the other end… do they also try to plug the bit of the toaster where the toast goes into the wall socket??

But TIL thanks, horrifying though that is

1

Aside from Christmas lights, some people also use them to give their house power through a generator, but that will back feed into the grid and hat is very illegal.

ITT: figuring out that "trans-" means "across" by giving other words with same prefix. Yey etymology

37
larsreply
lemmy.sdf.org

“meta” also still means “across” in Greece

phérō meant “I carry”

metaphor: I carry across

they now use the term for “transportation in general”

here’s a modern truck in Greece for ΜΕΤΑΦΟΡΙΚΗ

in Greek, they use μεταφορική έννοια (metaforikí énnoia – literally “transportation sense”) to mean “metaphor”

This is the crapsack universe, so it will, at best, turn into a GoBot.

3

I don't think it was true about Road Ranger, but a lot of GoBots just had their robot heads underneath the vehicle pointing towards the ground when they were in car mode and when I was a kid, I was always confused about how they could see anything but the road surface when they were driving around.

Run of the mill, is there anything in particular you fancy?

Not whom you asked but the way the windshield almost wraps around the front. Like the opposite of this ↓ sexy beast.

I think the color scheme is what caught my eye, but the row of fog lights and general styling are great. Comparing to trucks in US

4

I think this type specifically is referred to as eurotruck. I always thought the trucks with the large front looked away cooler, and more serviceable. You don't need to tilt the whole cabin forward 😄

3

Chemistry walking away without looking back as it slides into entgegen.

3

5 billion people believe that God is bigender, which is often considered transgender.

Conservatives worship a transgender being. Transphobes cope and seethe.

God is also a genderless being who uses capitalized male pronouns.

32

The data I'm looking at says only 55% of people are even monotheistic. Where are you getting that 5 billion number from?

9

I wonder if you're hitting the nail on the head here? Like... Is all this supposed to be reserved for god, and any person who deviates from the norm is blasphemous?

Or more likely, they haven't thought that far and just want people other than them to get lost

4

I think we use male pronouns for god because in the past any kind of authority figure or leader would obviously be male.

Some of His/Her/Their followers still think that way!

I hate the fact that i read it, trans-actions.

5

Well, that's normal given the context of the thread. Also I used italics to split the word to emphasise that.

What's not normal is those people who would tend to read it like that in an everyday context and interpret "trans" as standing for a transsexual rather than merelly as a prefix for change that in several languages is used to make lots of words about something changing.

2

I'm surprised any Republicans even drive vehicles seeing as each one of them has a transmission.

25

Maybe a pun is just a pun and you're making a thing out of nothing. I don't know. Context an intend matter.

It's only joke until someone's dead serious.

12

It's usually not a joke and they are too big of a coward to say what they want to say.

3
lemmy.world

Its only a joke because no one is laughing, that's how this coded "humor" works.

-2

If there is more context to show this is transphobic and not anti-transphobic, it isn't clear in the single screenshot here. All I see is someone making fun of transphobes and another person who doesn't get it.

5

That's going to solve pretty quick, bc transcriber is one of the first jobs that's going to be obsolete or at least very niche.

In other news, some random guy from Twitter and semi-popular reddit alternative 'lemmy' placed last again in the "spot the joke" competition, both scoring no points, ever. Tears of frustration were however soon replaced by tears of joy, when the two tied for first place in "taking yourself too seriously".
