Also using Liftoff. Haven't tried Summit though. Others have felt inferior to Liftoff. The second Sync is released im gonna spend w/e it costs tho. Love that app.

Second Liftoff. Quite good, but still missing my Sync options.

Have used jerboa, wefwef but find myself preferring the liftoff experience until sync is released.

5

My only problem with Liftoff is there seems to be no way to set the font size of comment text. It's incredibly tiny on my screen. I can change the title and subtitle font size for the post cards view, but not the comments within.

Liftoff is the only one that worked for me. I'm excited for Boost for Lemmy tho

I have tried connect and Jerboa. Connect has good featured but the user experience is lacking. Refreshing does things you wouldn't think, errors are TOO verbose and take up half the screen. But the customization is super nice and allowed me to make it almost like RiF.

Jerboa is the opposite. The UX is great and what you except from an official app. But there are missing features. Namely the inability to browse other instances unless you create an account who's home instance is there. Also the customization is a bit lacking in regards to what's on screen and how you interact with the content.

I'm not complaining simply stating my findings. I would love to try more apps especially some from any of the reddit app developers.

The Connect guy made his 1st version in like 5 days and update multiple times a day, it's impressive as a developer. Jerboa is nice too, now that network is more stable there is no more all kind of errors. In list view, Jerboa is about like Sync.

I'm using liftoff till sync comes around. The experience has been pretty good coming from jerboa

I've tried all of the current available Lemmy apps and so far liftoff seems to be the most well rounded. Can't wait for sync, was my favorite 3rd party app for reddit.

Liftoff had some bugs with link handling and message replies so I switched to Thunder, and it's been great with a very active and responsive developer. Still, the second sync is out, I'm back to my roots.

Fellow Thunderer here. I've also tried out all the apps. I keep coming back to Thunder. It's clean.

Yep, same. The only thing bothering me right now is that I keep those "oops, there's nothing here" timeout message when opening comments to reply, and then a second later they load anyway. Might just change the timeout sensitivity. But that's really complaining on a high level.

Ah, sorry to hear. I've heard good thing about wefwef, though it's a web app, it's apparently a bit more iphone-esque in design.

Memmy is pretty decent on iOS, but it misses the feed controls liftoff has

2

Good news is I'm sure there'll be a solid option in the coming weeks. It's amazing how quickly some of these devs are working to bring this place up to par.

Posting from Liftoff but I'll be switching to Sync first thing. Can't rush perfection though, I'm happy to wait for the best Lemmy app

12

I still find the look and feel of it a bit outdated, but functionally it's great.

6

I've tried a few. At the moment I'm using the PWA Wefwef.app

It's similar to how Apollo was, not perfect but good enough until Sync comes.

3

I know it's a lot to ask for a platform that's just now gaining steam but I got a Z fold recently and as far as I can tell nobody has a good two pane feature on their app yet. Anyone know of one or which apps have it planned?

3

I am also using a Z Fold and so far ivengot nothing. Hopefully Sync will be bringing the two pane feature over from the reddit version.

has anyone tried boost for Lemmy? it just says register for me instead of install

1

Yeah that's just pre-registration -- so you'll get it automatically when the first release drops.

You reached the end
