Wow, I haven't seen this dude since he made the video about his pulse jet bike like 10-15 years ago. I had to double check that it was the same dude, went from looking like a young dad to a grandpa real quick.
Of course he would be the one to make the first time machine. It must have been a rough time jump though. He lost his safe tie so I can only assume that in the jump the safety tie was destroyed and was the only reason he survived the trip.
This is like every modern Christmas movie where they think kids won't get it unless Santa's sleigh no longer runs on old magic, but on futuristic technology, guages, panels, samouflanges and discombobulators.
